Hi!  I’m Marie.

And I’m passionate about helping women experience more joy, comfort and ease through their pregnancy and birth. Sometimes I feel as though I sort of fell into this work, but when I really look back I see how all these different experiences came together to lead me to where I am today and then I feel like the journey has been pretty magical.

It just didn’t match the needs of my pregnant body. So I took a break from teaching that style of yoga and I joined a prenatal yoga class.   Immediately I felt as though I had come home. This was where I belonged. The pace and structure of the class was so completely what I needed. I LOVED it!

So you can imagine my dismay when our instructor moved provinces. I complained loudly and frequently until someone suggested that I consider training to teach prenatal yoga myself. I found an amazing pre and postnatal instructor training course and I jumped onboard. I thought that I would only teach prenatal yoga just during my own pregnancy, but I ended up falling in love with it.   That transition from woman to mother is just such a special time.

It’s going to sound totally corny, but I felt that I had found my calling. My purpose for being here.

To guide and inspire these new mamas to bring their babies to earth with more health and love and to empower them to take care of their own wellbeing, with the tools and the knowledge they need.

You see in my heart of heart, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher of wellness.

My Work

The women I work with are passionate about taking care of their health, and finding natural solutions for their pregnancy, birth and for their babies.  They read, they do research and they seek out ways to help themselves.

They make choices to proactively take care of their health, rather than passively reacting to illness, soreness and worry.   They are willing to invest in the tools and the knowledge that they need, because they know it will lead to long-term wellness. They trust their intuition because they know themselves better than anyone else.

If you are looking for the hands-on tools and skills to make your pregnancy and birth stellar, then I am your girl!

Marie Berwald family

I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, in the middle of the Canadian prairies.  For the past 17 years, I’ve been married to most loyal and supportive guy a girl could ask for. Together we have 3 children who crack us up, drive us nuts and give us more love that we ever imagined. I love that I live in the same place where I grew up, and that I can’t go anywhere without running into people I know.

If I’m not working or hanging out with my family and friends, you can probably find me curled up with a book or out in my yard.   I love reading fiction and escaping into someone else’s world for a bit.   I enjoy landscape design and yard work; yes even mowing the grass. I’m totally into compost and I’m experimenting with making compost tea this year.

You see, I’m a bit of a hippy at heart, and I dream about having a totally “green” home.  However, I’m useless in the kitchen and even heating up soup sometimes stresses me out. Happily my hubby is a kitchen and cooking wizard! Currently I’ve been totally inspired by the book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and I’m working at turning our home into a place of warmth, light, openness and calm.

“I really enjoyed Marie’s prenatal yoga as well as the mom and baby yoga. Her wisdom on the whole experience has been really valuable.” ~Jennifer Serink, mom to Sophia

“I just really wanted to thank you for everything: prenatal yoga, hypnobirthing, hypnotherapy,  and mom and baby yoga. You’re a wonderful instructor and I know I wouldn’t have had such  a positive pregnancy and birth had it not been for you. So… Thank you very much! I’m  missing yoga, and I hope you’ll still be teaching when I’m pregnant again.” Sara Hughes,  mom to Jackson
